Give me a minute and it will eventually connect

If you know my hubby he would kindly admit that he married a woman who might be related to the Absent-minded or is it the Nutty Professor? Okay both!
But if you give me a minute, somehow in my brain the reality or answer or whatever will connect.
And I won't need as much explaining or help unless you start throwing advance math at me then, well, it is like your are speaking Chinese.

Let's just say my problem is details. Too many and my brain gets foggy, confused and you will see the panic in my eyes as I desperately seek a pen and paper. If I write it down it helps. That's just the way God made me. I am a ENFP type or an Otter or Champion Idealist if you are well versed in all those major personality testes floating around. My hubby? Complete opposite.

Yet, somehow, we connect well. Hubby's sharper, elephant brain that my first born has inherited makes up for my head in the clouds, oops, I forgot-even-though you. Told. Me. Two. Seconds. Ago!

We laugh and I love that I have been braver in the past few years about making more fun of myself. That actually my flaws or quirks is what connected us in the first place.

Tell me your "connect" story...

  2. This is very funny, and so true. I could hold a great conversation if we waited two hours between comments. That is when I come up with something intelligent to say - two hours later, when my brain has had time to absorb, sort, and think through the details. Great post, thanks!

  3. This was fun! I stopped by from 5 Minute Friday today. I most Fridays will click on more than just the lady preceding me. I love visiting new sites and meeting new writers and sisters in the Body. Your realness and truth-giving nature drew me in. I am glad I stopped by this morning. This was very relatable to me, and you wrote it so well. :)

    1. I am guilty of visiting many blogs other than the one preceding me too! Thank you for your very kind comment! Thank you for stopping by too.

  4. Y'all sound like us! My husband and son are FAST processors. I, on the other hand, need time, want time to process and come up with just the right response. I tend for forget ~ a lot! My motto: "If it's not written down, down expect it to be done."
Love a little insight into your life:))

  5. Hi there! Visiting from the 5 minute party. I can so relate to you. My husband is a pilot and his brain is so sharp, whereas I'm absent minded in most areas and have a bad case of "in one ear and out the other!" It used to frustrate us both for awhile but over the years we've learned to let it balance us, much like you and your husband. I don't know how long y'all have been married but it really does get better and better with time! Thanks for sharing your story and a personal struggle. What we consider "flaws" are what make us unique! And thank God for men who love us! hehe Have a great weekend!

  6. I am so glad that now in my GULP mid 30's I can admit I'm a complete control freak when it comes to most things. I can laugh about it and sometimes it helps me to see I need to let up a bit.

It helps me and Brandon because I am the "scheduler" of the household. If I wasn't things would never get done or scheduled.
