31 Days to Grace: (day 1) Grace grew up.

So with trepidation, I am finding courage to write for 31 days straight on one topic I understand and feel confident enough to write about. I don't expect this experience to go perfect, but I hope that this 31 day challenge from an inspiring blogger, The Nester (go here: http://www.thenester.com ) will encourage or inspire someone...I am anticipating to be stretched.

Here we go...Day 1:

I didn't know I gave grace. It was scarce in my family and I was too young to understand it anyways. Somehow, as children often seem to be able to do, I gave grace in abundance to them. When a sibling bullied me, a father ignored me, a mother betrayed me...I still came running with the baton of second chances.

Isn't that what family is supposed to do? Know all of your ugliness and still extend grace?

At one point, I tired of answering the door to grace collectors. With their hands stretched out, unashamed of what they took with no regard of what it stole from me.

Then, God whispered, "Grace is my gift to ALL humans."

As Randall D. Hughes (from: http://www.godglorified.com/god%27s_saving_grace.htm) puts it, "God’s grace has appeared to all men. But they (make)made the choice whether to obey or refuse."
As I chose and choose to obey God and as God's presence in my life grows, so does His grace...in me, toward me and thru me.
I am better able to give the grace given to me and in me easier to others.

Meet me here tomorrow as I continue 31 days to grace. Next topic? Grace to self.
